Miers Court & High Halstow Primaries

  • Date Published: 14th March 2016

I’m still visiting schools on the back of World Book Day, and today it was the turn of Miers Court Primary in Rainham, Kent and High Halstow Primary in Kent. The Year 5s of Miers Court had done some great work on Saving Finnegan, including some brilliant newspaper reports and a feast of illustrations relating to my story about a beached whale. The Year 6s of High Halstow, on the other hand, had rewritten the opening chapter of Spilled Water, telling it from the point of view of the rather unpleasant Uncle Ba. I was really impressed by the level of creativity in both schools, a testament to some fine teaching. Thank you for being so welcoming and embracing my books so wholeheartedly.
