Sutton Bonington Primary School visit

  • Date Published: 5th November 2015

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Sutton Bonington Primary School today, despite the fact that early morning traffic did its best to make me late! During three separate sessions, I spoke to all year groups and signed books as well – with thanks to The Roving Bookshop who supplied them. I concentrated on the old favourites, Shhh!, Knock Knock Who’s There? (that’s me being a ghost in the photo) and Polar Star for Reception, Years 1 and 2, though I added Keep Out!, which was received very noisily! I talked to years 3 and 4 about how Shhh! came about and the making of a book, together with a reading from Hurricane Wills. And for years 5 and 6 I focused on my international series – Spilled Water, Broken Glass, Torn Pages and Bitter Chocolate – with additional readings from Hurricane Wills and Saving Finnegan. It was great to hear that Hurricane Wills sold out, because I’m very fond of it and want it to stay in print! Thank you for such a warm reception, Sutton Bonington Primary School.
