I’ve received a wonderful email from a fan of Shhh! and just had to share it with you. Shhh! is one of my own favourite books, so it’s always great to know that other people have discovered it and love it too.

I just wanted to say thank you for writing ‘Shhh!’. I have a first edition copy from 1991 when I was only 7/8 years old. I have carried this very much loved book with me ever since. As a primary school teacher, I have read this every year to my new class and my own three children. My youngest, who is only four, wants this read to him all the time before bed. His little squeals as I get to the end are joyous.
This book has been so loved for many years, that hardly any flaps are left and so I use my hands to cover it. Like an old teddy, it still means so much to me that a new version, just wouldn’t be the same.
I just wanted to share with you why I love your book!
